Reflection Essay

Throughout all my years at Maggie Walker Art 3 has been the hardest. Its heavy on Art history, which I did learn a lot about but its not my favorite. Also just techniques and vocabulary and general theres so much to learn.

I have learned many things while in Art 3, some including how to oil paint, abstract painting, sculpture and how to manage my time for art works. I've seen the greatest improvement in my overall expression of ideas, I'll just go with an idea rather than have to overthink it for hours on hours. I definitely need to work on my oil painting, Its not the greatest, I need to spend more time on layering as well. As seen in both my paintings the layers are not very distinct which I want them to be. I would like to improve this but I also would not like to do painting.

With my independent work for next year I am going to stay away from painting and go more towards pen and ink or printmaking. Those seem like great ideas for me. From what I've learned this year I can just go on my own with things and not have to overthink all my projects. It will be up to me do decide what I want to do which will relieve stress off me or it might make more. I definitely do not want to do painting, though I may check out other things to. Like wood carving seems fun. I just want to make stuff thats not the same as everyone else.
