Artist Copy Drawing

Here I copied Goya's drawing An Heroic Feat! With Dead Men! (Grande Hazaña! Con Muertos!) 1810-1815 (printed 1863). It took me awhile initially to get the contrast right with the pen and ink while still using Goya's mark. The most challenging part for me was getting the way of his marks correct he uses angles that I'm not really used to going more up rather than like a normal 45 degree hatch mark. I also noticed while doing this artist copy drawing that when he has something light he often puts much contrast behind it to make it appear lighter. Overall it was a fun experience and I learned much about stippling and hatching.
